You mean the stripe things? Those are called service stripes. The car gets one for every four years of service, I think. I'm not real clear on that. I'm also not sure where the next one goes. Maybe down the middle? I've got a few years before I have to figure that out.

I thought they were trick refractive photon deflectors which help the air molecules maintain that critical boundary shear also known as b.s.

Heck. Frito's entire hood is white. That explains his extraordinary performance.

Got a chance to drive the Mini today on the Glendora Mountain Road. What a fun drive. I'm pretty lucky to have this road with more than a dozen hairpin turns and over 4000 feet of climbing nearly in my back yard:

And what a fun car to drive. I might turn into the person I always made fun of: a Sunday Driver.

Brings back memories, my boy, memories. From La Canada Flintridge up CA 2 to Los Angeles Crest Highway. Went left to go to Palmdale, right to go to Wrightwood. Sorted out my '71 Porshe 911, '78 BMW 530, 93 Passat GLX, and when I think about it, I am lucky I did not get killed up there. Beautiful area.
