PHP Forum Reply Window Strrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeetch

Post by Amskeptic » Wed Sep 26, 2012 7:18 pm

What on Earth is stretching out the reply window? I checked all the photo tags in my original post "IAC Greetings From The Northeast" in the 2012 Itinerary and deleted them from Photobucket because they had added random numbers and letters in response to some scandal where naughty people were getting into others' private albums. Then I selected the new option "do not randomize file names" and now I am back to simple file names . . . until November 30 when Photobucket shall unleash a plague of stretched forum windows trying to fit in these long image urls.

But why is the reply window still sooooooooooo sideways after all of the img file names have been tamed? I have tried both the Google browser and Internet Explorer to see if the browser was the cause, but it appears to be the forum behaving like this. Do others have a stretchy reply window? How about widely varying forum headers, sometimes small and tidy, sometimes huge?

I dunno about no "stretchy reply window", but sometimes (in Chrome and in Safari) when I click on the banner, it opens up the banner image in a separate window, along with going to the home page in the original window.

I shall shrink the header a few pixels to see if the composition dwarves are better able to lay out the default spread.

So you don't know 'bout no stretchy windows, hah? We got ways to make you know, you know. Have you never experienced someone who has posted a link to some site where the address goes on for miles and miles and it makes the window grow sideways? I know there is a web address wrap method or something, but I shrank my links and still the reply window ends up with having to endlessly scroll sideways back and forth to proof-read. It is annoying.

I have Chrome in one window and IE 8 in another. They both misbehave. Makes me think it is forum specific.

Hello! Exactly! The problem is not that your FF runs like a charm.
The problem is that the reply window sometimes goes on some long long sideways trip when you are composing a reply, or the header above is small in one window and huge in another. Here. On this site
