I know he said he was busy.....but this is excessive. There must be more to it. Who pissed him off?

He's been in Portland for a few days...all those PDXers with their social calls and their Lucky Labs really eat into his free time, I'll bet. :pirate:

I saw him at the Lab Monday, but haven't haunted him visiting his local appointments, probably might have but my schedule was full working on Gretchen Ghia. He's in good spirits, though. Looks like it might be next year before I see him again.

And to be more clear, what I miss most are the reports of what he does and where he stops. Those little stories of stopping in the desert/plain/forest to clean fix some obscure part of Chloe.

Me too, I miss those. I waited all winter looking forward to the spring and the onset of Colin's roadside adventure stories. It's already August and there haven't been too many. Hopefully there will be some catch-up and recapping later on!

How is it Chloe's fault, He can't spend that much more time driving because she's 10 MPH slower. On second thought it does make a 6 hour drive take 7 so this would add up....I'll accept this as a partial excuse. But doesn't steal anytime at all on non travelling days, and he been in Portland a week.....

Okay, so since Colin is finding it more difficult to find time to post, the onus then falls on us to report on his progress, at least on the portions of the day that he spends with us lovingly tending to our rides.

Now add:

exhaust leak repair #1 #2 #3
crankshaft pulley #2 too small, #1 too wobbly, #2 not too small but bent tin, #3 pulley removal to shorten oil pump studs, generator pulls #1 new bearings, #2 fan balance, #3 fan balance after cleaning loctite out, #4 fan balance forgot to index hub to fan, engine carrier pull to paint, engine carrier pull to replace mounts, engine carrier pull to do exhaust leak repair #4 > add shim aluminum to heater box pipes,
driver's door panel #1 fix regulator,
driver's door panel #2 fix regulator,
driver's door panel #3 fix leak,
driver's door panel #4 replace regulator,
driver's door panel #5 reattach pull rod,
shall I go on?
OK,
instrument panel removal for speedo calibration #1-45,
oops, no oil idiot light #46,
oops glass fell out of fuel gauge #47,
. . . anyways, I love working on it and have discovered that it takes an average of five or six tries to get it sorted out. This eats up a bit of time, too.

It takes a lot out of you. At the end of the day you're content just to crash into the dull-ache sleep of the road weary.
