My wife (since she does a lot of oil spill booming stuff with the CG) got invited to go on a little cruise on the 27th and I get to go also. Likely just a few hours around Portland Harbor. I have never been on one before.
Here is the ship.....
And here is the rap on it.....which is kind of interesting

Arrrr, you lucky, slimy bilge rat! I've always wanted to do that! Must be the growing up in Iowa that makes us long to be on a real ship. A few hours of motion sickness and constant puking usually cures that, however.
Take some pics and tell us how the adventure goes.

Re: I am going for a ride on a tall ship....
Years ago before I went into the Air Force I had already taken the ASVAB for the Coast Guard, when the results came back they wanted to send me to the Academy. You would be on the Eagle as part of your courses for school training to be an officer. I did not go in, but sure did miss an opportunity especially to train on a mated sail.
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
