Too Hot

Post by Hippie » Thu Jul 05, 2012 3:10 pm

I like the heat. Summer is my favorite season, but it's been so flipping hot everyone is staying inside for the last couple weeks.
My outdoor thermometer hangs in free air in the shade. It registered 105F today.

I'm with you, Hippie. 104 here today. This has been a crazy year already, the countryside is beginning to remind me of southwestern Colorado. Our grass looks like straw, we haven't had rain since before June and there's only a slight chance in the forecast.

That's not bad for winter. :sunny:

Dry here too, Sped 372, but we have had a bit of rain in June.

You're telling me. I'm in your state this week on what is our cycling vacation. Did the Sparta - Elroy Monday spent Tuesday recovering from heat exhaustion. We were to cycle SW Wisconsin the remainder of the week but not in this heat. The only cool place in the entire state is Door County so we motored up here. Nice roads up here but a little touristy.

I'd invite you to stop for a visit but the only cool place in our house is the basement. Another 105F day today, sheesh, I'm sick of it. Hope you're enjoying Door, we're up there the week after next. Planning to check out Rock Island this time around.

It's been cold and wet here too, way above average rainfall. But it seems like the hot has finally arrived, 90s on their way. If only I could stop sneezing.

Supposed to be only 94 here today. A slight cool down from the previous three days of 100+ temps and mega humidity to go along with it.
90 degree temps preceeded those 100's. :sunny:

Starting sunday, we are suppose to go back down towards normal, with highs in the low to mid 80's.

Big time drought conditions here. Burn and firework bans all around. Many small grass fires as a result of foolish people not knowing any better, or using common sense.

Not to mention, all this tough weather is seeing what I'm made of w/r/t my job. Ugh. :dontknow:

80's here with lows in the 50's but a tad humid. Water temp is a balmy 63º.

I hope it cools of in Iowa as I am headed there about the 19th. 40th class reunion.

Ok, today leaves no doubt summer is here, but still mild compared to most of the nation. I'm not much of one for heat.
