Me, too. Best thing you can do is fight back. Use your knowledge of production to describe to naive viewers exactly how these "reality" shows are made. I've pissed off many a viewer with a quick rundown on how "Survivor" is photographed.

What does a funny stop sign have to do with reality tv? Did I miss something (again)?

http://www.aetv.com/hammertime/

MC has his own reality tv show. Of course titled "Hammertime". Not my cup of tea. Even in his prime, MC Hammer never did much for me.

I was visiting an elderly aunt when the last episode of the first season of Survivor played. There was a bunch of younger people there that I had never met. I correctly predicted the winner and when they asked how I knew, I told it was all a set-up, and that the winner was determined by the media wanting to spoon-feed us their politically-correct agenda of the day, not by skill.
Never watched another one, saving untold hours better spent on non-TV activities.
So actually I'd never heard of Hammertime till now but you're saying it's a reality show. Where did they get that classification? Who are they fooling? Anyone?

If I remember right, the winner of the 1st survivor was Richard Hatch, a gay man who later went to jail for not paying taxes on his winnings, how is this an example of, "the winner was determined by the media wanting to spoon-feed us their politically-correct agenda of the day, not by skill." ?

As your argument makes no sense to me.

That comment about them rigging Survivor to promote a pro-gay agenda is ridiculous.

Hambone- I loved the Stop sign fwiw. I still giggle about the sign behind the bike shop in Bloomington that someone took a paint marker to so it said "One Way... to rock."

And a few weeks ago I saw one that said "don't STOP believin"

At the time I felt every time I turned on the tube there was a pro-gay message coming at me. My comment was not about Richard Hatch or tax evasion, or the pro-gay topic either; it was about the media being used to steer the minds of the population. I don't care whether someone is gay; my point was that I don't like being told via the media what is the current correct way to view the world. I want to think my positions through on my own, sometimes with sensible debate with others i.e. use my brain, and not be pablumized.
