Thinning the Herd

So long little guy, I'll miss you but will be happy knowing you're making someone else happy. I was spread too thin and you deserve better.

Man, that is tough. I've only had to do that once.

Will do.

That car will always be special to me. I am actually somewhat relieved to know I will never experience what you did with Road Warrior. I went on a 20 minute ride (as a passenger) with the new owner and knew right away that the car had accepted him. It made me happy and I want my final memories to be happy ones.

Good point. My little princesses might be too demanding of a new owner . . .

"hey!!! when are you going to lemon pledge my CV boots again?"

"excuse me!!! there is a film on the inside of my dash lenses AGAIN!"

"uhh, like, hello? isn't it time to wax the shock absorbers? it's been a month already."

Please . . . you let the "lemon pledge the CV boots" get by??

I have it on good authority that Martha Stewart's Thanksgiving Preparation List includes, "fill the minivan tires with holiday glade air freshener in case the tires get shot out at the mall."

Well, with the recent acquisition of the Vanagon and other life changes, another page has turned here. We're in a new house and I watched the Bus drive away a couple days ago. Tough to see it leave but happy that the new owner is as excited about it as we once were. So, for now at least, we're back to two Volkswagens, and only one of them is aircooled. Time to bond with the new camper, the kids love it and I know we will too as we make more memories. Time marches on.

Farewell, Bus, thanks for the all the adventures!

That was a beautiful bus! Hope you got what you wanted out of it price wise!

Good luck with the Vanagon and your newest family addition!

Thanks! I didn't quite get what I was expecting, but it's always hard to judge the market value of specialty things like this. Not that many potential buyers looking at any one time and I wanted to move it before winter comes to free up the garage spot. We were never into it to make money anyway. The joy on the face of the new owner made things easier.

Vanagon is so practical. The looks are growing on me.

So . . . what did you get for the bay? PM if you like.
