Hey Volks,

We are in Ecuador and had a blast meeting air-cooled VW Bug fans in Quito. There are many pictures on our blog!

Tomorrow we'll continue following the "Panamericana" towards Peru - our next country after Ecuador.

Air-cooled regards,

Hey Colin & all others,

We're visiting our final country within South America. Herbie took us a long way on the Pan-American Highway through Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil and now Venezuela. In about two weeks we'll put our Love Bug on a ship going back to North America. From there we'll drive across Mexico and the US back to California.

More on our travel blog: http://www.herbiesworldtour.com

Air-cooled regards,

Domi

Hey folks,
We are back on the road in order to explore Africa - the last missing continent for Herbie and the camper!
Right now we are in Genoa, Italy, waiting for a ship going to Morocco, Africa.
You'll find posts and pictures on www.herbiesworldtour.com

Hey Colin,

The engine is holding up pretty good so far. I built it on my own this summer. Back then you told me that I should work on my engine - so I did. Now I love working on air-cooled VW engines. I'm running again with an 1,200 cc Mexican 34 hp machine with an additional oil filter (as we know it from modern cars).

In summer we'll be back in the US driving Herbie No. I and the camper up to ALASKA!!!

Kind regards from Morocco,

Domi

"Now I love working on air-cooled VW engines."
Me too.

How are you ever going to be able to drive that car to the store to pick up a quart of milk when you get home?
"I'm just going to the store to pick up some milk."
I would fall back into a road trance and drive a few country borders over . . .
at least until my cell phone rang.
"Where ARE you? It was just a quart of milk!"
"I'm sorry, I'm, hold on a minute . . . (yes, what country is this? Latvia? thanks) I'm in Latvia."
