Id be worried that the fuel filler cleanouts will be needed for a long time before it clears itself completely.
Yeah, it kinda turned out that way.
Colin :flower:
Well, if it's any consolation; all the fuel filter cleanouts provided copious amounts of levity to your readership. It also demonstrated that you're clearly a gambler and too damn patient. :)

What did it get down to, 4 miles between clean outs? That would have put me in an asylum.

400 feet between clean-outs. That last day was unbelievable.

That *itinerary* was unbelievable. While keeping us glued to the screen for updates on the progress, i'll happy return to waxed floorboards and freshly painted roadside heater boxes.

Well, NaranjaWesty did give me another nail-biter with those Bigsert installations. So far so good.

Waxed floorboards, not yet.

Freshly painted heater box on a refrigerator box, check:

We do have a roadside CVboot replacement coming up. These factory originals did good, but it's time.

What "new" brand of boot are you "gambling with on the CV joints? So much info on what boots last and which ones fail after a year.

My 69 bug is running its original CV joints boots. They are still perfect.

Did'ja put the small ring clamps on two boots and leave the other two clampless, just to add more variables?

Hasn't happened yet.
But I will use a plastic tie on one of them, a kit ring clamp on another, and clampless on the other two. I have been clampless through almost all of my VW history. The boots on NaranjaWesty have been real troupers. Sat motionless for twenty years then pow! let's go across the country! Heat! Ozone! 33,400 additional miles!

Yes. I ordered four. Gave one away. Decent quality!
NLA Parts in Britain. Embarrassingly, they arrived days before the Bus Depot parts ordered on the same day.

I don't understand Bus Depot's business model. I'd certainly use them more if they shipped the same day and told Ron that. But, they don't change their shipping policy so they lose my business. People are too accustomed to Amazon's blazing fast shipping, especially with Prime to want to wait days/weeks for a business to ship parts they say are in stock.
