if you put things back to the way they were originally they have a much better chance of working.

Applied this logic to the wiring on my fresh air fan. It suddenly works again. =D>

The PO of the bus had some odd wiring, and the fan was not connected at all. At some point a couple years ago, i "fixed" it so that it was running whenever the ignition was on, but that stopped working too.

I think the original problem was a misunderstanding of the blue wire from the alternator. The wiring diagram in the Bentley is clear. I cleaned up the connections and put them back together. Not sure why I was not smart enough to do that the first time.
