If it's in spec, then why not? Hey it was just a thought, all I did was post a link...
If I was strapped for cash and couldn't afford a full rebuild then I'd consider it.

Hambone,
Just talkin smack.

It certainly is an option and Joseph's call.
I'm guessing if the engine checked out and you showed up with cash money you could probably get for less than asking price.

Selling an engine after only "two trips out in the sand" is a flag in my book.

Kubelwagen. I've been fussing with the ghia trying to get it running well enough and all lights working to get it out of the garage and turn attention to the green bus engine and evaluate it's status. It was running so well.

VistaC. I'm not sure of what you are saying. You are interested in one of the two 2 liter engines I have? (one together and one all apart?

Porsche 914 engine/transmission - $200 (Washougal)
Before you read further, I'll be honest, the engine is definitely a rebuildable core, but not much more. It's an early 1.7 liter, and is a long block minus one of the jugs (have all pistons, both heads, etc...). That being said, with a rebuild, it would be a screaming little motor to go in your early 914, bus, or other type 4 vw project. You can even get crazy and put these in a beetle or ghia (some conversion required). The transmission is in good shape, not seized up, 5 speed no linkage or shifter. I just want these out of my garage, and I'll take $200 for both, you haul ( I can help load, but they're pretty light)
