Went down to see someone who's breaking a '74 Westy (bottom half is totally rotten), to see if there was anything worth taking. Between that one and one and a half other buses he had in, I picked up the following:
Fixed panes for rearmost side windows with vents
Westy roof and upper bed base
Cab area plywood headlining
Rear roof headlining
Fresh-air blower for heating
Middle row seat belt buckle
Lower sliding door runner and roller
Spare tire strap
Passenger side sun visor
Westy fold-up side table
Second grab handle for inside the sliding door frame - thinking about putting it on the sliding door frame at the rear
Westy bug net for the tailgate
In the week, I'll be picking up:
The Westy roof panel frame and brace, in case I want to fir the Westy roof to Harvee - if that's possible, anyway. Not sure yet whether to Sawzall from just in front of the brace at the sliding door opening, or further forward, and below the gutter line.
T-bolt, clamp and nut for the middle row seat
Two opening vent windows for the rearmost side windows
If I can get all this fitted, I'll have factory-fit sliding windows in the sliding door and opposite middle window, opening vent windows in the rear-most side windows, plus the normal opening vent windows and roll-up windows in the doors - should be enough ventilation

Get all the locks if you can; door handles, slider lock, rear hatch lock, ignition. The reproduction stuff isn't so good...

Re: Breaking a bus can be fun!
Got some more stuff today, so, including the first trip:
Fixed panes for rearmost side windows with vent windows:
Westfalia hinged table:
Cab area plywood headlining and rear seat chipboard headlining/upper bunk support:
Westfalia upper-bed base:
Westfalia late Bay pop-top and tailgate bug net:
Roof section from in front of the B pillar reinforcing hoop all the way back:
Rear-most side window opening vents, Westfalia hinged table support, middle row seat clamp, 1974 dealers list book and, the cream of the crop, a Westfalia rear sliding door handle in perfect, if dirty, condition:
The Westy sliding door rear handle:
A successful couple of days!
Hopefully, with the roof section along with the pop-top, if we so decide we can change Harvee from a tin-top with two leaking glass sunroofs into a proper pop-top!

Re: Breaking a bus can be fun!
The replacement sliding door handles bus depot sells are crap. Not original and also too flimsy. So I agree fully with your assessment of finding a nice original.
Take care,
Rick
