Guru needed

Post by DoubleNickle » Mon Jan 09, 2012 12:10 pm

Alright. You all know about the "Peter Principle" right? Well, I am there. I need a trustworthy, honest, knowledgeable place to take my bus for some work. I am out of patience and time. I would prefer to find an air cooled specialist - so here I am soliciting recommendations (other than Colin of course :compress: ) If it's in violation of some rule then please send me PM's as I don't wish to step on toes. This is difficult for me as I have always believed I could fix pretty much anything but the realily is, I'm just not getting it done. I appreciate any input. Thanks very much! 55

I have been mechannickkcing here in Portland under the Portland Volks Folks name. I don't have any experience with L-jet FI, but most of the air cooled VW mechanical stuff is consistent. What kind of problems are you having? Some times the "many heads working together" process can work wonders. Let me know if I can help.

I have a 1975 FI engine.
What seems to be the problem?

I do believe that the PO wiring modifications may be wreaking havoc with system voltage. In that case, you need less of an air-cooled specialist and more of an electrical specialist. Did we have some hesitation misbehavior on our test drive?
