Yes. It would prefer a 4.86:1 rear axle ratio to help you get moving. The 4.86 ratio was installed in the 5-rib transaxle with the 215mm clutch used in the 1975 fuel-injected 1800 buses.

If you are a Known Mellow Person, the 091 will work fine, but the performance will be a bit more genteel. If you keep your current transaxle, then swap your current 228mm flywheel/pressure plate over to the 1800 engine.

I like the short-stroke (66mm) Type 4 engines, of which the 1800 was the last.

Would this work in Miss Zora?
There is one available, cleaned and ready to go. Would I need a new transmission?

Just weighing my options...if it's less expensive to get a complete 1800 than rebuilding the 2 liter then I have to consider it. A-1 (Dan Hall's) will be calling me at the end of the week to let me know how it looks.

It's ready to install. Valves have been adjusted, end play has been set - go to go!
It's a rebuilt long block. Fuel injection manifolds are with it, the old alternator, etc. It was a complete motor. The tins have been hot tanked, bead cleaned ready to paint.

I'm sending you the contact info - he'd like to sell it this weekend.

Me too, with suspense. How much is it? I am going to play The Price is Right and say, without going over, $1500.00. What do I get Johnny?

He is asking $1600. Give A-1 a call and ask for Troy.
