I think this bus was a lot better off when parked 2 years ago. All the PNW liquid sunshine can make a little rust grow quickly. It's sad, she's a nice kid and to some degree that bus is probably a connection to her late hubby. Might explain why she's waited a few years.

I put a 2000 cc gl porche pan handle motor in it and converted it to a 4 speed. the motor has less than 20 k and runs like a dream on top of the excellent fuel efficiency (30+ to the gallon)
I see.

They are rare, but occasionally seen. I believe VWoA of Amarillo made them.

He lost his privilege to drive. Probably speeding around in his "Porche."

There is a nice sage green westy at a used car lot in town for a low, low $12,995-we finance anyone.....

Heck, when you buy an bus with cash, you still end up making "monthly payments." A clutch here, some brakes there, oops the steering wheel fell off while I was in front of a cop, that'll cost me.....

Speaking of Craigslist buses, this is the engine from my $500 bus. I still consider the bus to be a great deal, even with this observation...

Image
This may have been what caused the engine to seize when the flywheel was installed...doesn't look like it was rebuilt properly.

Funky double windows on the drivers side, then the passenger side:

Must have been a panel at one time, yes?

Perhaps a Sportsmobile? Just a guess by looking at the front luggage rack.
