I don't have any video. I would need to pull the bus out to film and it's cold and snowy here. Perhaps if we get some clear weather and the yard gets plowed.

Take a photo/video of your cam gear Wall too. Educate the kids here with carnage shots.

I did get some video during a break in snow storms but can't figure out how to post. My computer illiteracy is showing. Really tired of shoveling snow too. No chance of driving my nice new engine anytime soon. Pardon my whining.

We went to town in the bus today.
Haven't had much chance to drive it do to life getting in the way. I have to say I highly recommend full balancing and a counterweighted crank! I can't remember when I had such smooth running engine.
Time to put the gas stabilizer in and park it in the shed for the winter. Thanks to all those for the replys!

Hey tommu,
Apparently, Bus71 rebuilt his engine and balanced it and it supposed to be really smooth.

Sorry folks, no video, not on utube, Facebook and just barely on here. Did I mention the engine runs really smooth? After years of running with cast off, used and worn parts that nobody else would use, I'm happy. P.S. Did I mention that it runs really smooth?

I would love to get to that next level with Chloe. My current obstacle is the generator/fan.
Did you have yours balanced?

I didn't have them balanced but I searched my parts stash for the best fan I had (straightest, tight fins, etc) lm running an alternator so it's a bit different. I sometimes think the new gens out there aren't too good and I wonder if the old ones have suffered from shifting segments or windings? At first I was a little worried about using a counter weighted crank. There is maybe a slight loss in "zip" on takeoff but once rolling I believe the mass helps torque, not to mention pounding on the mains.

VW Bus. . . zip on take-off, oh hail no.
Go to your idling engine. Pull off the ignition black #15. Does the engine spin down and then go backwards on the last compression stroke? Or does it just sort of stop?
