how close is a type 3 to a late model bus?

Is the flat four engine the same, at least the long block? dual carbs? transmision? My bus is a 73 that ive restored pretty darn period correct and was wondering if any parts would be good towards a new vw project.

Nope, type1 engine with different FI etc. Window cranks maybe.

Yellow! I had no idea. That shore' takes me back.
I'd love to have a Squreback of my own some day. Never got a chance to enjoy the one I repaired and sold.
