it's ORANGE!!
got the 76 super back from Willy last week. Engine goes in next after powdercoating the tin and such. Then it's interior time!!
The bug still needs to be cut and buffed, but looks good.

My favorite color, of course! Good choice. Looks the best with a black top.

Re: it's ORANGE!!
Car looks great as I got a peek at it when Wayne wasn't around....key was in it too so I should have taken it for a spin around the hood to see how it drove.

Re: it's ORANGE!!
Not a huge deal, but latest problem is with the bug's windows. The rubber and scrapers are very tight. Is there anyway to make them glide easily over the window? Or is that just a product of replaement/aftermarket parts and rubber that doesn't fit well? Or is it just new and will get easier over time?

Re: it's ORANGE!!
Are you talking about as you roll the window up and down or after you roll them all the way down? I've always had the problem where the rubber will curl under as you roll the window all the way down. I spend a good three minutes going around and prying them all up to their proper configuration so they won't mold themselves in that contorted shape. I hate it.

Re: it's ORANGE!!
I believe there are stops to prevent the window from going down too far. The top edge of the glass should go no lower than the top edge of the scrapers. With the bus, you just crush the bottom of the winder cable tube to set the lower stop.dtrumbo wrote:Are you talking about as you roll the window up and down or after you roll them all the way down? I use a generous dose of talcum powder in the felts and on the scrapers. You can pry the edges of the felts apart to help the glass slide. They often close in on you as you bunt them into the shark clips.

Re: it's ORANGE!!
Mine go all the way down. But the worst offenders are the rear quarter windows. I've tried silicone spray before with limited success. Perhaps I'll try talcum... next spring. Brrrrr!!!!

Re: it's ORANGE!!
The horn button is part of the HORN BUTTON. I don't think you can get the center insert separately.
