Bugs in Mexico

As in, the VW Bugs.
One of the things that I noticed since I've been here is that there are a horrendous number of bugs.
They are of course in various conditions too, good, bad, horrid, beautiful...
Talking to an older fellow that spoke pretty good English, it turns out that they are eternally cheap even today. It also caught my ear that he said that you can still get Mexican "engines" and "transmissions" pretty easily. I even asked if that's actual Mexican stuff, or Brazilian pops, and he said that it's all Mexican.
I wonder if we can just grab 1600's and bring em up. :)
