Caps

Post by IFBwax » Wed Jun 08, 2011 9:57 am

What is this new style I've been seeing.. of wearing baseball caps right off the shelf. No curve, straight bill AND they leave that clear sizing information label on the bill of the cap? WTF?

Ah, youth. What's funny is when I show kids today the clothes I wore when young (think mid-80's geometric shapes on neon colored clothes) they laugh. They'll get theirs...

For some reason the "look" is kinda scary in an unconscious way. Flapper skirts had their day too.

I hate to assume the worst, but could it be it has that "I just stole this, see it looks just like it did on the shelf. It even still has the tags!" gangster vibe?

I still rock my curvey-billed cap, but I have to admit that the flat bills look cooler. Maybe I'm the only one here (under 90) that thinks that.

It's for gang bangers. After you get your first kill, they give you the cap.

I see it every day in downtown Atlanta. I'll take that over baggy pants every day. Dear Lord that style BAFFLES me.
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Sure but the opposite skinny jeans are just as baffling. Looking back to some of the high school fashion I wore I'd guess we all have some things to be embarrassed about.

I was a silly metalhead, so I was into skinny jeans long before these kids.

And they are awful, primarily because they expose the ill-structured legs that most people have.

Myself included.

My pants are baggy these days just because I'm getting old and losing my backside. The very same pants weren't loose at all a handful of years ago.

Cops love it though. Can't run in 'em.

(I hate the flat brim cap look too, velo.)
