Post by vwmegastore.com » Thu Jul 22, 2010 8:38 am

I have a Gene Berg Shifter (Part number 6710)

It's about 12 years old and paint on the black handle is a little worn from normal use but the shifter works great...

fit's 1967 and earlier

Thanks for your offer...not really looking to do anything to my engine for a couple of years...although I don't want to say no right away...because it is an intriguing offer...

Are they singleport manifolds?

Dual port... Also have Gene Berg linkage for them with about 6 months of use. Brought my bus back to stock fuel delivery as it was just not as efficient gas mileage-wise.

Just picked up a '63 Beetle and I love the berg shifter in my bus! I can imagine it's really fun in a beetle!

I'm going to respectfully decline...sorry...

Are you going to attend the Rose City Bug-In?

I am going to do the swap meet part this year...and will have the shifter there (if it hasn't sold first)...

Thanks for your interest and the Berg Shifter is really great in the Beetle and the shift throws are so positve and short...it's pretty amazing...I would never go back. I have one in my '67 Bug (This is an extra one that I'm selling)

well, it's $80 more than I spent on the car, but it sure would be nice to have.

does it change the position back closer to the driver?

I drive with my seat all the way back and I have to lean pretty far forward to shift gears when my seat is also reclined a little...

Right it does put the shifter back towards the driver...

I'm 6' 0' and I have my seat all the way back and it's very comfortable...

Plus it reduces the shift throws and I love that part, too...

Thanks for your interest!
