You shouldn't. I've got a 30-LED flashlight that uses three D-cell batteries and accidentally left it on for over 8 hours before I found it while unpacking the Bus last fall.

.. and I'm *still* using the same batteries. Which are the cheapo Eveready's that came with it.

I should have added: "...which I did at Maupin"

Now time to change out the two bulbs in the Westy light fixture!

So this packet has two of the "most powerful" festoon lights that will go on the Campmobile Lamp.
You can see that one is upside down, and you can see its guts.
Only two, because I forgot that three are needed. Doh!

Here is the Campmobile fixture with the old bulbs (above).

And now we have two LED bulbs installed, the middle bulb being the old incandescent type.
The fixture now is brighter than a Mofo, stays cool and uses much less juice.

Thankfully, your buddy static just did all of the legwork in advance for you.
Just order the part number that you see clearly in the photo, and make sure that you order three, not two!
And why someone hasn't already figured this out and documented it for the rest of us remains a mystery to me.
Do I have to do everything around here?

Nice Static. Won't work for me though. My galley light is fluorescent.
Chorizo, it's what's for breakfast.

I've always been impressed with Westy78's (and others) LED lighting setups. My florescent light was shot and hung uselessly. My original white vinyl(?) interior headliner was mostly thrashed. So I had taken most of it out during the poptop restore I did planning to redo it as well.

I got some LED puck lights at Home Despot that run on 12v. They pull apart to mount.

I don't know much about wiring, but here ya go.

Mounted up where the flourescent used to be. Getting the white trim on was a pain in the ass.

Burnin glory!

I also added some smaller LEDs at the slider so you could see what you were doing in the dark. No fancy wiring to door pins, just a manual switch.

I don't have a picture in the dark, but they definitely light up the interior enough to see what you're doing. I also added a LED bulb to the front interior light, ala static. Thanks all for your inspiration.

What is that you are using in place of the headliner? Something mounted to the wood? Laminate?

So you just found some fabric you liked, cut and epoxied it to the fiber/cardboardesque original backing?

LED lighting is the coming thing!
...But I got these at Radio Shack and I'm not entirely happy with them:

Hang some tassels off of 'em and just don't drive at night.

The lights look good Ritter.
