So Long 2016
Well, we didn't do as much camping as we would have liked to, but in theory we're "all set" for a great summer next year. Think we've got most of the bugs worked out of the new Vanagon and without the prospect of moving, we should have more energy to get out and explore again. Pulled the battery and did some other winterization yesterday, so I guess that's it for this year. Hoping for more stories to share once this recurring winter thing passes through again!

Re: So Long 2016
It sucks that you have to put your VW "away" for the winter due to snow, ice, salt and rocks on the roads! I know here in Arizona, we have the opposite issue at a different time of the year. Our VW's are mainly parked for several of the hottest months of summer. I simply don't enjoy driving a air cooled, non air conditioned VW in 100+ degree temps!
I'm now gearing up to enjoy my VW's through the winter time. The stock VW heaters are good enough for Arizona winter temps. Amazing what living in different parts of the county do to our driving pleasures.

Re: So Long 2016
The California coast is calling the year round aircooled drivers. =)
Since 2000 ive daily driven aircooled VW's year-round. I can't imagine it any other way, though I do see the benefit of taking it off the road for updates/repairs and driving something else while those bigger projects are underway in the garage.

We're camping tomorrow night near Watertown. It's supposed to be 67° tomorrow, low of 44° tomorrow night.sped372 wrote:Well, we didn't do as much camping as we would have liked to, but in theory we're "all set" for a great summer next year. We didn't put our bus away for the winter last year until the week between Christmas and New Year's Day.
Drive 'er until the first snow and the road salt is laid down!

Previously, yes... but the 2 and 3 year old kids make it tough to not go stir crazy with long cold nights. For some reason they're not content to just sit by the campfire with a beer for a few hours...Happyfolk wrote:We're camping tomorrow night near Watertown. In the Kannabis Kulture Kommunity, an "edible" is an item or morsel of food that has been laced with a measured dose of their favorite relaxant.
Think "hash brownie", but more sciency.
