Ok, you asked for it (or not). Sorry if it's bad to post the same thing as at that other forum, but I found no easy answer for this. Here's what I know now.

I know non stock isn't for everyone, but I like it better than the torn green vinyl. I backed the panel with 1/8" closed cell foam to reduce noise and increase insulation. The standard door pulls will allow the use of the Vanagon (another sin) seat armrests. Do note the use of the beefier Jetta window cranks.

Thanks. It was a lot of work. I still need new door seals and then the doors will be more or lest "restored" (except the window seals/scrapers that seem to be ok). No new holes were drilled as the panel push button thingies use the existing holes. Bonus.Hippie wrote:That looks really nice.
