WTB push rod tube retainer wire

My engine is missing the wire that helps retain the push rod tubes on the number 3-4 side. There is a little oil leak going on here as well, so if I refresh the seals and reinstall the tubes, I'd like to get a wire to keep everything in place.

Anybody got a spare they are willing to sell? Send me a PM and we can make arrangements.

Thanks, Tim

Doesn't Ken Madson have one or fifty?

I suspect he might, but I was holding out hope that one fine forum member here would come forward with the news that they have several of these wire retainers laying around, and, what the heck, I'll just send you one for free being it's almost Christmas and you're such a nice guy, etc, etc.

One can always hope. Ken Madson, however, will be my ace in the hole. And if he doesn't have one, I have some really neat yarn covered wire hangers I could bend into shape and do the same thing. That would work, wouldn't it? :drunken:

I have my old 1700 sitting here. I just checked and it still has them. Does the engine size matter or what side? I'll send a PM.

I do not think, but cannot swear, that size of Type 4 engine matters. I know that side is irrelevant.

Pulled the one off the 3-4 side just in case. Figure we are not a bunch of girls so size shouldn't matter. :blackeye:

I'll drop it in the mail for you today.
