The Fall 2020 Help Me Cry In My Beer Tour ...

Hello to Beauty and Possibility. What shall I build?

Well, first, I need to rebuild the moribund "career" as I traipsed into the the heady and addictive realm of endorphins and dopamine and oxytocin, I was a veritable relationship junkie, I tell ya. Now, though, Broken Heart Detritus litters my path with excruciating little shards of broken hopes, ouch, ouch, yeeouch!
( I'd do it again ... maybe I will)

Meanwhile, my friendships built over the past twenty years, my friendships languish!

I am doing a Help Me Cry In My Beer Tour that includes free Volkswagen consultations at every stop. I'll give you a couple of hours and you'll give me a beer and we will share all there is to cry about, there is plenty, no topic is off limits.

a) This tour shall begin September 11th.

b) No appointment list! The only way that the forum will know of my whereabouts is when my visitees deign to inform you of what we consulted and what we cried about. I'll then swoop in with stories and pictures.

You want a free* Itinerant Air-Cooled visit?
(*except coffee for the morning folks, beer for the evening folks)
Email me at <78vw2000@earthlink.net>
or message me Amskeptic at www.itinerant-air-cooled.com ...

Each visit must be formalized with an actual phone call so we can discuss your Coronavirus Concerns and Protocols and a little heads-up on your VW.

Here's a Broken Heart Portrait With A Coronavirus Protocol ...

Email your phone # and best time to call you. We must discuss Coronavirus protocols, we must discuss the truncated consultation window of only a few hours and possible dates!

If you make it to Oregon, there's always something to do here. But I'd hit the road soon as I just felt a bit of fall in the air. But stall long enough to let the air clear out here because it's a smokey state right now.

I am good for two hours of VW consulting list writing and advice followed by beer conversation about this confusing Existence/politics/women/child-rearing/religion/Millennials vs Boomers culture analysis.

It has been a Journey thus far. Left Pensacola after hanging out with Wild Bill briefly.

Have been impulsive and unsettled and volatile. Hurricane Sally told me to head west, so I did.

A very "natural state" if you are into riveted trusses ...

Guess they changed the name of the state to Oklahsma ....

NaranjaWesty has been driving like a dream. 385* CHTs 17mpg @ 60-65mph, steering is precise and a little nervous (communicative), oil level on the dipstick has not dropped in 1,600 miles.
There are stories, some disturbing ...

It’s really good to see the old roadside views, the Walmart clock on the dash, and Colin, on the road.
And forum entries! Yay! Forum entries! Go west, young man, and tell us what you see, and who you meet.

Stay safe... the smoke haze from the western fires have arrived in NJ/NY, but it's up high where we can't breath it. Your'll last photo the sky looks hazy.

More paint arrives today so I can refinish the bus, the 8 y/o Dupicolor auto paint faded along with the curtains and seats. I don't expect any work to be done during your visit, if you make it this far. I just want your feed back after driving the Bus & Thing, I think they are fine, but what do I know, maybe some hidden thing you will notice.

Get some 3M Polishing Compound.
Use a terrycloth washrag and a quarter-sized blob of the compound to make a one foot circle of vigorous wiping on the right rear quarter panel adjacent to the tailgate. Keep at it. When it dries, use less pressure. You will see flakes flake off. Now get your Mothers Classic Carnauba Cleaner Wax in that idiotic tall narrow container that can hardly stand up. Do the same thing as above. It will be easier and you do not have to wait for it to dry out whilst working it. Just quit after you feel like you covered the area. Wait for it to dry. Now wipe with a dry towel.

Do exactly the same thing on the tail gate itself, in line with your quarter panel circle, a one foot circle. Be thorough. Repeat both, if you feel like it.

Now, can you avoid painting the whole car?

IF the Lexus is underwater in downtown Pensacola, I have very little time to try to save it.
Waiting for a report.

So very glad to see the return of activity here. Have missed the write ups and dialog. Colin - what’s the state of the Lexus? Hope all is well.
