Billings? Rapid City? Cheyenne? Anyone?
I don't like it when Colin recounts for me his straight-through drive across a third of the damn continent. It makes me skeered for the poor kid's sanity.
It's finally happened! At last!

Mitch, your mastery of multiple contractive apostrophe construction has not gone unnoticed.
Maybe I'll even show up on the correct date, generator bearings b'willin'n'all, y'know?

I will put you in my Future Prospects dossier. I need to fill the schedule about 15 years out.
We don't want troubled type twos . . . we want happy road warriors.

The journey begins. This is quite an accomplishment, serving our changing needs these many years. The Itinerant Timeline covers an era of great changes-from a lot of daily drivers with access to still original parts, to todays mostly "special occasion" drivers or restorers of our great air cooled vehicles. Original parts are few and far between, and we are faced with a flood of cheap, mostly Chinese imports that serve only to frustrate us. For those of us that truly care about our vehicles, our need to have Colin as a resource and spokesperson for us becomes increasingly more important. As Colin begins this year's tour, I wish him safe travels, and thank him for his passion in helping us keep our aging, wonderful vehicles on the highways.

Hey Colin,

Got my valves adjusted, drove about 5 miles, shifts great up and down, letting the oil and tranny drain overnight. Refilling with 20w-50 and 80w respectively. Still have not found the intermittent banging when driving. Brakes are good, ordered a Dakota digital CHT. Soon as I have found the banging noise I am going to start interior refinish. Will try to get the 2l with the fuel injection ready and if I can I will maybe see you again in the fall. Thanks for a great visit.
