And if you think that's bad.............

It's only the middle of the month and Portland already has the second rainiest June on record.

Summer? Hell, it doesn't even feel like *spring* has hit.

I, for one, am tired of this sh*t. I don't mind it to a point, but if I wanted to live someplace that was rainy and/or cold all the time I'd've gone someplace like northern Scotland.

Says the guy with NY plates! :cyclopsani:

We are 35" past normal rain levels for the year so far. :pale: Sooo many cloudy wet days. At least this is unusual. And the region is going collectively insane, it's all anyone talks about.

Um, in my primitive midwestern mind the Pacific Northwest and Northern Scotland have very similar climates. As I sit here scratching my mosquito bites.

Nah, it's nicer than that. Usually it's "summer" by early May, sometimes sooner. Then the rain stops in July, not to return until the end of September/October. Summer drought ensures Cascade conifer forests boy howdy. Coast Range too. But you know the weather, El nino all that crap. It's been nuts the past couple years.
Look thru our old camping threads for pix, they tell the tale. Yeah lots of raincoats! :cyclopsani: But 1000 year old forests? I'll take a little rain. Waterfall factory. Lots of cool old history out there too, Indian relics.

No doubt it's pretty out there. Wisconsin ain't half bad either... we've got two great lakes, the Mississippi, an unglaciated region with bluffs and hills, a glaciated region without them, dense national forests and waterfalls in the north, yada yada you know the drill.

That sucks.

It's a steamer here today, but we get substantial rain daily. Never used to be that way in the summer.

Southern California has enjoyed a long, mild spring this year, thanks to all the cool air from the Pacific northwest. There have been only one or two days in the 90's (inland valleys) so far, though that will be changing I'm sure.

I hope the Deschutes campers have sunshine.
