So...yer talking March 25, 26, 27? (figgered I'd chime in here) May just work for me. Likely travelling solo...dunno yet. Up top would be my pick...too dreary down in the canyon this time of year. Either side. Where we went last year lacked the 4-wheeler traffic...the spot on the other side where we've been before (or just past it on the same road where the fire pit tempts a tumble into the abyss) suits me fine too. I don't give a shit. I'll see how the whole spring break thing pans out...plans early in the week, but so far the weekend is open.

What about FS140 heading east from Bonnie Crossing and 2710? Stays up high and may avoid the ATV traffic. We haven't camped there yet and it's a good road. I remember a few camps along there too. Yeah I know maps terrify you but get it out and take a look.

I'd like to see what is north of Little Badger someday, but that can wait for another time. Hopefully we'll have many more years of this craziness.

I'd imagine FS140 is still going to have a whole lot of snow. I've been stuck in deep snow on that road in June with my old Jeep trying to get into Badger Lake.

Frito will be southbound though y'all's neighbourhood that weekend. Would you guys consider a Walmart parking lot instead? :bootyshake:

Keep up the postings. Frito can get into some pretty small places, but his traction in snow and mud is, er, um, ... poor.

That would be very cool indeed.

Maybe a different 140 Jasan. This is the one across the canyon from 160 where we camped 2 years ago. Snow shouldn't be an issue over there.

Ah Gotcha. I was thinking it was the road into Badger which is also 140. Off of 4860.

Any news from the Deschutes Guard?
Hey I may be able to get out Thursday morning! And maybe travel solo but not sure. Anyone else able to?
Lots of snow in th Mt. Hood westside forecast. It will be interesting to see how that bodes for the eastside. It's good we have troops on the ground over there.

Looks like Mark may be out due to family schtuff.
FS140? Or if there is snow out there, then the south side of the canyon where we've camped previously. I'll post a map and directions. Basically it's like you're going to Bonney Crossing CG.

So, it's written in stone now? Not this weekend but next? Somewhere?

Yes. I'm most likely leaving town Thursday AM, possibly with Sluggo. I gotta call that Gypsie-cat.
The camp will be overlooking Badger Creek, dramatic for those of you who have been there.

This isn't the place we went last year is it? Up on the ridge?

Up on the ridge above Bonny Crossing Camp but on the north side of Badger Creek canyon.
2710 north to past Bonny Crossing then back up the other side. Go straight east on 140.
This is assuming there is no snow. If there is, then we can camp on 160 like we have in the past.
Looks like a cool place to explore, wilderness between the meeting of Little Badger and Badger Creek. I know of at least 1 fire ring along 140. Maybe there's a cool camp at the end of the road. You guys mind trying it out?

On this map 140 is where n/s road (abandoned) and mccorkle (2710) intersect.

If you guys are game I'll post better directions/map.
