New Glarus Woods, New Glarus WI

Post by sped372 » Sun Oct 17, 2010 7:35 am

Just got back from what will probably be our last trip of the year. We've been putting too much off at home and really need to catch up from being gone so many weekends. We putted down to New Glarus after work on Friday and spent a couple nights in the small state park there.

Saturday morning we walked over to the brewery, which was actually sort of funny when we saw this sign:

We also had a good laugh when we were passed by a Prius. Walking is still greener than driving a hybrid.

The "tour" was pretty much just being allowed to wander through the brewery. It wasn't guided and there wasn't much information. I'll stick to drinking it, I guess.

We did sample a couple while soaking up the sun outside.

All in all a pretty low-key weekend. Good to be out enjoying the last bit of warmth before the cold sets in for good. I love the fall, everything is so clear and crisp.

Nice pictures sped. I didn't realize there was a state park near by. How was the camping?

Beautiful! It's great that you give that nice bus a fine and active life, they like that.
Fall is just getting rolling here too, icy winds at night...each year a new surrender.

A couple of the sites were nice. There really isn't much to do there, though. Just a patch of woods, as the name indicates. We'll probably go back sometime, but it won't be a the top of our list.

That's why we bought (and continue fixing) it!

Great photos! Great Bus! Thanks for sharing.

Just got a six pack of New Glarus Dancing Man Wheat this weekend - not as good as brewery fresh, but good still...

Why do I always forget to visit this forum????
