Beyond Maupin
Making and meeting friends in Eureka.
We were hoping to camp in the redwoods, somewhere along the Avenue of the Giants. Finally got to a campground to be floored by the overnight cost, so we kept going up over the ridge to Honeydew, and a dandy little campground next to the Honeydew Creek. Apparently Honeydew is noted for the incredible marijuana grown there. It certainly is remote. Second gear up, second gear down.
After a couple nights of perfection, we made our way to the mouth of the Matole river on the coast for a final night of affordable camping before heading back to Eureka.
Hoping to touch bases with aircooledchris today.

How did you get this shot? Have a bear take it?ruckman101 wrote:

Home again, home again, jiggeddy jig.
Bertha was a joy to drive, no problems, no worries, except our cast iron camp pan that we forgot was on the roof to dry. Makes a horrible noise when it finally got tipped off. Fortunately, no injuries, in fact traffic wasn't an irritant for the entire trip until we got to Newport.

It was only in unpacking on arrival home when the skillet didn't show up that we put two and two together.
