We'd like to make it, but we will be having a booth at the Bug In that weekend. Have fun though!

I might be able to make this one. I'll know as we get closer. Hope the bugs are a little less this year - last year the biting flys and skeeters were super nasty up there.

So far the skeeters have been way more mellow in the mountains, as the seasons up there seem to be more on schedule with snowmelt etc.
We will see.

I was down at Hart Mt. Antelope Reserve (6000 - 7300ft) a couple of weeks ago. First couple days, it was windy and just a few mosquitos. Third day it had warmed up and they got hungry. Between the lupine patches and wind gusts, they were pretty aggressive. I was swatting 4 or five at a time. On the last day, warmer and dead calm -- they were just unbelievable. Luckily I was leaving anyway. I forgot bug repellant, so I would have been miserable.

It's not "air-cooled", but it does have an air compressor. Does that count?

Is anyone going on this trip?
I may be able to sneak out on Thursday the 29th...
Or maybe just cancel the thing due to lack of interest. We'll see what happens. So far this year these camps have been little attended.

I would but that's the weekend before we leave for the San Juan's. We'll have last minute things to do.
Chorizo, it's what's for breakfast.

I'm looking forward to going, but I'll admit I'm playing a wait and see game with work demands.

Hammie, you know I'd be there if I could. Can't even make an overnight guest appearance.

Actually really bummed, we're "supposed" to be up on Hood Canal that weekend, which should be great and all but as we discussed earlier I'm really wanting to learn my way 'round the backwoods of Mt. Hood.

Has a site been picked for that weekend? Also, I've got to limit my camping (at least this season) to one's I can bring the boy (11) along with - I know there are some "adult" camps. :compress:

The only adult camp is Hunter's Moon if anyone shows up besides me and Mark. :geek: The rest of them are family friendly and we always enjoy meeting new people. Especially kids they taste great slow grilled over the fire.
Looks like High Rock will be the Bob and Hal Camp. It's a developed campground in the high country but not maintained anymore. A symptom of our age.
Hey you live in Oregon, 1 camp a year isn't enuff. I don't know how the rest of these FAIR WEATHER CAMPERS (you know who you are) can stand it.
