Ladybugs

Thousands of them. It was the damndest thing I ever saw. It got down in the 30s at night and as sson as the sun came up out they came. I had at least 200 in our gear when we unloaded.
What is that rhyme?
Ladybug Ladybug
Fly away home
Your house is on fire
The children are alone

No wonder we have nightmares

Same here right now. One year we had them so bad I couldn't see out one of my windows.

Those aren't really "Lady Bugs." They are Asian Beetles. They are a transplanted invader species that have really taken over in the mid-west. Here is an older news article about them:

Don't squish them. They stink.
