VW Camp at Burning Man

Post by misszora » Mon Jul 28, 2008 11:55 am

Hey everybody!

Is anyone making the journey to Burning Man this year? Looks like I am flying solo and will be traveling in Miss Zora. I feel pretty good about that but would feel better if I had other fellow VW Burners to caravan or connect with.

If anyone is interested or knows someone who is going from the Pacific Northwest, PM me. Thanks!

There is a woman that runs a forum called "riviera..." something or other.

Spiffy would know.

She has gone before and she is quite the mechanic...

I think she is from the PNW.

Spiff?
So it all started when I wanted to get better gas mileage....

Oh yeah, Heather. I think she's gone the last few years. Nice girl and full of VW knowledge. I don't know if her bus is running though. Last I talked to her I think it was out of commission.
Chorizo, it's what's for breakfast.

Yup yup yup, Heather and her S.O. Brandon. Good folks and both of them have good insight on the places to go. She hooked us up with a GREAT tip on our trip to the Redwoods a couple of years ago and the spot (Fern Canyon) turned out to be one of the best parts of the trip.

I've been contacted by Annie - sounds like she's from the Olympia area. Got at least two buses going the similar route I'm taking. She also sent me a list of parts/supplies she likes to have on hand for the journey. She drove her '66 solo last year.

This will be good for me. I was a little nervous. I've done long distance trips but have always had a co-pilot.

yay!

I could tell - I'm excited to meet her.
I'm also in contact with Heather - she just revamped the VW Bus Camp website. Check it out: http://vwbuscamp.com/

This really should have it's own thread but. . .

Fern Canyon is incredible. I can't wait to get back there, I love it. I highly recommend it if anyone is down that way at all.

Cutting through central/eastern Oregon on the way down. Have to be part of another adventure.
