Gypsies HUGE tank contains --- 5 gallons of fire breathing fuel ?

OR --- 5 pounds of the cooking pleasure ?

I'm not sure what the pound number comes from as far as tank size. I believe it means the amount of LP the tank will hold but don't hold me to that. As far as weight and size comparison here is mine which is an 11lb tank (beer bottle for reference). Right now with it about 80% full it weighs 20lbs. So imagine Gypsies tank coming to just above the weld line on my tank or there abouts. Most likely weighing about half the weight also.

I know of some people that use the adapter for refilling the one pound cylinders but really I'd rather just carry one tank with me instead of a bunch of those little cylinders. You can also get an adapter for the larger tanks (5lb/11lb) that is a pole and has ports you can hook other hoses to for using multiple appliances. The top of the pole has a port for using a propane lantern so you don't necessarily need the one pound cylinders for those either. Although you wouldn't be able to carry the lantern around then either.

Ouuu~La La I like the looks of yours

The pick up handles are so much better placed to balance the weight. Not so necessary with the likes of Gypsies , a-hum "Huge" unit.

I guess the mystery of the gallons vs the pounds will remain. I too would rather use moonlite and sunshine to lite my way and use my ol natural senses if I need them for my path ala Hambone style.

Lot's been posted since my crackin' wise earlier. (Moobs, indeed!)

I have the multiport pole Westy speaks of. Only prob is the lantern is pretty well affixed and not portable, though that aint so bad when considerin' the light is usually needed in the 'kitchen' area anyway.

Campfire and oil lanterns is best fer ambience and night life in the backwoods.

I just got a nice little barbeque that hooks up to the disposable nipple.
It is nice for picnickin and haulin' the tank around aint always useful. I also have a little single burner that stays in the rig, so I think I will keep a few of the little bottles around fer just such occasions. I will get one of the adapters and let y'all know how it goes, (I hope).

In conclusion: It aint the size of the cylinder it's how the hoses, nipples, and poles hook up and finding the right places to fit them together.

To each their own...

Growing up in Bend, I have had my share of hillbilly influence so, of course, I have a potato gun. Boston and I made it a couple St. Patrick's Days ago. Potatoes, Irish, get it? It's pretty fun, actually. Aquanet hairspray-.99, 5# bag of potatoes-2.99, hours of starchy spud splatters and pelting people with projectile papas-priceless. Actually, this is seriously not something to shot at someone, it has a crazy-fast muzzle velocity.

Yep, I've got one myself that I built years ago. You're right, they are no toy. You could easily kill someone if you hit them in the right spot. I haven't shot mine for ever. I was going to bring it last time and forgot. Nothing like launching a potato a hundred yards at a couple hundred feet per second.

The foomp sound just adds to the fun.
