June 19-21 2008 NW Camp?

Post by hambone » Sun Jun 15, 2008 8:34 am

You guys are still in Maupin but next week is callin'! I know there were some rumbles about a trip, at least from Jasan and Spiffy. I have the time, and would love to get out for a few days. My brother is now here and moved in, maybe I can git him to come along.

On the 23rd we'll be driving to OH from TX and then heading East to Afton & Deposit, NY. If anybody is on our path of travel who wants to meet for a meal, or to throw back a couple of beers, we'd be open to that.

We'll be back in Elyria, OH for close to a week beginning on either 6/30 or 7/1...We won't be driving Phred or camping this time, but next year our goal
is to be in Maupin. With Phred.

I went to Chicago to find some ghosts and see my kid graduate H.S. Beautiful trip! I'll write somethin up when I git clear. 2077? :drunken:
I couldn't swing Maupin, got home on Tues nite, my brother moved here the next day, we've been helping him move and settle in. Then my little one turned 4 so we threw her a party yesterday. Now back to werk, yuck.......
It's good to be back in the NW. I'm not cut out for big city life any more, not to mention the high temps and humidity. Didn't see 1 VW in a week! Blasphemy! But everyone I met was so friendly, felt like a vortex of kindness. Chicago still feels like home.

Prod it out towards the coast or south, I'm in. I really wanted to go to Maupin, but couldn't afford the gas and reg fee. We've been dyin' to camp with some other folks.

Depending on the location and a few other sundry complications I might be able to do it. If'n you guys have a location that is better for the OR folks you guys should do it, my high mileage bus trip card is punched out for the time being. :blackeye: (loooooong trip home from Maupin today....WOOF!)

Bob, every weekend this month is booked solid. I'll be at a wedding in Boise next.

Sorry I can't make it.

I think this was Jasan's idea so he should be chiming in here I would think.

I agree, too short of a season to stay indoors. Wish I could go but me old bones have to go get tweaked. :geek:

Snap, crackle and pop aren't only for breakfast. :blackeye: I told J that the other day as his bones were waking up and letting it be known.

We will be going to Gary Emory's Parts Obsolete Campout in McMinnville the last weekend in June with Bob AND Mona (our 69 Karmann Ghia), but after that we are up for a campout some other place.....

We want to go up to Olallie Lake later this summer (August) to fish and pick huckleberies....

Keep us posted, we'd love to go....

Doesn't seem like this one is gonna take off. I'll probably just go out into the Roaring River area and do some trail work and exploration. At least it's accessible, which is still a problem due to snow levels....
If anyone gets the last minute itch to head out, I'll be at the end of FS 4611.

Sorry Hammy, got back late last night and am still getting things unpacked, packed etc. When are you heading out? I might come up Friday night. Or who knows, I might decide to come up Thursday afternoon/evening too. Are you going to have to leave Saturday?

That's up where we were last year when I drove my truck right? Just at the end of the road?
Chorizo, it's what's for breakfast.
