Any luck with the abandoned hot spring?
Bob, Anthony, and Rachel went to find it, they did but it was full of very large Russian people. Who'dathunk?

Bob, I'm glad you got those shots on the way out....kickin' myself for not staging some photos of us driving out of the campsite....my goodness, could we have found a better site? December 2008 Snow Camp...I can see the thread now...I don't think we could improve much on that site...other than to include Gypsie, Westy78, Spiffy, IFBwax, etc., etc., was room for a dozen buses back there...nice 'lil bus-sized breaks in the HUGE trees...yeah, I'm already thinkin' camping again.

We made it home safe after some pancakes and hot cocoa in Detroit and a hairy ride back down 5 in the storm. Slush Camp '07!

We had the perfect shot of your bus the whole way outta there, mark. But both cameras where dead. And all the pics we took with the still camera came out blurry, probably fogged up. :pale:

I'll upload some video tomorrow.

Yes, very cool place, but not quite abandoned enough for me....

Hiya All,

After following the thread and getting a feel for your expectations, those pictures are telling me that you guys hit the jackpot. Couldn't look any better. Hope you all had a great time.

That's cool ya found it though. Perhaps it's not occupied sometimes. I wouldn't have stuck around. They probably weren't dissappointed you left either.

Anybody go for a dip in the river? That water looks inviting...... brrrrr....

Who's the guy learning how to put the chains on (even resorting to reading the instructions, I see)? One of my favorite roadside winter activities! :blackeye: I've never managed to do it twice with the same vehicle and same set of chains, so it's always an adventure. Gads I hate chains--my hands hurt just thinking about it. I now always carry a pair of leather gloves and something to lay on when I'm expecting snow.

Twas me, just got em' used the nite before from Craigslist. They're good chains but sort of complicated to put on. I got it now. Drove over 10 miles with em' they held up well and gave amazing traction. Didn't even slip once.
It was a windy wet ride home but I did 65 the whole way and made it back before noon! Didn't realize I left so early.
