We're over here, where the weather is good…

…did I say good? I meant, "pouring down rain all evening on New Year's Eve!"

We made do with a rain tarp stretched between buses, and a nice house party in a friend's Temporary Vanagon.*

*Yes, temporary, as Chloe (the girl, not the bus) borrowed the Westy from an uncle who is thinking about selling it. It was a nice shakedown, and we appreciated the roomy interior with swivel seats and spacious penthouse when our two "Road Life" buses got too cramped.

So we have the young people, in great numbers. The rising cost of these cars is still a hard spot for breaking into the hobby, especially when one tries to save money with cheap parts. There is only so much comparison I can do to help ease the pain of new owners. I found this search to be extremely poignant after replacing my leaky master cylinder last week.

What else can we do to bring the next generation into our welcoming family?

Teach them how to hone a master cylinder on the VW and the Prius.

(we need to start wresting fine old VWs from stupid owners, too)
