Don't let that nice weather fool you. That campsite will probably be covered in snow this week. We just happened to catch possibly the last warm weekend of the year.
Chorizo, it's what's for breakfast.

It was warm until Sunday. That was a cold, wet, drunken night. :drunken:

Thinking of the camp on PAGE 1 (John Day Csing.) for the 4/20/16 camp, eh?
But first, the Badger Creek Camp in March.

Pick a place, and more importantly pick a weekend ASAP so I can get the time off work!

A little further than John Day but I've always wanted to go see this area. It's on BLM land so camping in the area shouldn't be a problem but don't know how much private property is around there.

This site says that there's plenty of flat ground for camping.

Looks good. You need a BLM map, lots of private land out there. Some places impossible to get to other than hiking or by river, I've tried along the lower Deschutes. Different than FS country.

I'm far more concerned with *when* than with *where* -- I have to take time off work to do ANYTHING on a weekend, and the sooner I can get it on the calendar the less likely someone else will already have dibs on the days in question.
