Itinerant Air-Cooled Greetings From Victorville CA
My distemper from the Barstow basura has abated a bit.
Driving down a hot two lane road from Barstow to Victorville,
I stopped at a gas station to enjoy the shade,
and enjoy the overall art of the noonday moment,
and to explore the caved in ceilings and graffiti.
Look! a message from the people. . .
With reluctance, I head for L.A.

Endplay? What endplay? Engine ran fine in the 107-111* heat up the El Cajon Pass and back down too. Endplay issues will assert themselves within the first minutes of operation by slowing or stalling the engine. I was out the woods by the Indiana border.
Yes, that was the Route 66 road . . . showing the decline of the Old American Way of Life as everyone sticks to the Interstate Corporate Box Mall Exits. I prefer to be out in the land a bit

Don't we do it in the road here at Ralph Spoilsport Motors......
Been to Victorville. It is always hot there.
I know you guys out west say that 100º+ is really no big deal as the humidity is so low, you are never in traffic, and it really feels like 80º elsewhere, but to me that is just too damn hot.
82º here at the beach today, 68º at night for some nice sleeping weather. Water temp is a refreshing 64º. 14 cars is a traffic event here. Went for a nice bike ride today.
Now back to the Antelop Freeway which is already in progress.....

Hot and dry here too, but nice for both driving and biking. No humidity. High temps have been in the 80s and lows in the 40s. Stars and meteors are perfect. I hope that Colin and his bus make it here in a few weeks. Perhaps we should start the 'get Colin a Cooler' fund so he doesn't have to eat limp string cheese on his journey. Whatchathink?

PS: I'm on my bike somewhere on that road down there.

My brother lives in Victorville. You think it's hot there, he works at the glass manf. plant. He says it feels like a cool breeze when he gets off work! Most of my family is/was from the Lancaster/Palmdale area, I've always loved the heat! Now Alabama in the summer, that's HOT!
Always looking for one more...

I always thought that too having lived there, until right after I was shipped off to Korea in August. Now that was a killer! And I have been to the middle east since!'55 Ragtop wrote:My brother lives in Victorville. You think it's hot there, he works at the glass manf. plant. Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Indeed! I've ridden Kicking Horse pass (the Golden Triangle), Monashee pass and the little jaunt between New Denver and Kaslo (don't know where you are located), but I don't have any pictures of those to shoot back at you. I like your pictures better anyway, Glasseye.glasseye wrote:What? This hill, satchmo?

You should sneak across the border and meet Colin while he is here (9/9 or so).
