ive always wanted to, but dang that is a heck of a hike. 4 days of driving just getting there and back, not including time spent at the show.

that said, if there were a caravan (a busavan? carabus? VANAVAN?) going from this far I might be swayed....

I did the trip from Portland a few years back. Now that was a haul. I think we took four days to drive down in a group of five. Only three days back from Quartzite. That was even harder. I think we drove 12 hours the last day. Second day getting caught in a freak snow storm in the Sierras outside of Susanville that dumped about eight inches of snow on us.

Won't be making it this year. I do want to get back down there soon though.
Chorizo, it's what's for breakfast.

I went to last years pictures of this event, a lot more than I wanted to see but I am a train wreck sort of guy, I had to look at them all. Dear me it makes me want to do my diet right this year. What lake is this?

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

That looks like Lake Havasu ... some of the more intrepid people actually got into the water.

It obviously wasn't the year it got so cold that they called it "Buses by the Fridge"

It's over, and I had a blast (and even won something in the raffle for a change).

Hope to see more of you there next year, and a lot of you at Maupin this year.

Any stories about the event?
