That sucks. Well, if you snap and decide to head out, we'll be at Town Center at noon.....hell if you're already packed, you might as well! I've been looking forward to meeting you too.

Holy crap John! Sorry to hear it. Was looking forward to meeting you but totally understand wanting to stay home. Not to freak you out or anything but sometimes those idiots like to come back for a second round. I'm usually a peaceful guy but when some one messes with my property or family it's game on. Like my grandpa always used to tell me if you have to shoot them outside make sure you drag them in before the cops get there. :cyclopsani:

I'm still in Hambone. I'll be at the Town Center at noon or somewhere close to it. Hey Spiff you do know we're meeting there right and not Estacada?

Estacada is later on the journey. Meet us at Town Center, the exit is clearly marked and there's a huge lot. We should be easy to spot! Sunnyside exit....right off I205.
If we don't find each other there, then plan 2 would be the Les Schwab in Estacada, you can't miss it. But we'll most likely see ya at TC.

Gypsie wrote:It is with a heavy heart and a tear in my eye that I type these words. I will not be able to swing this trip. Family matters and diminished ducats are keeping me home. I am not complaining too loudly as I am having a big four-oh b-day bash next week that will surely find me bleary eyed and blathering about 'dem good ole' days before the night is over.

I will send my most positive vibes for a safe journey to all of you. I would also like to offer up my propane radiant heater (big round catalyst on top of a 5 gal tank) and a chainsaw (and a splitting maul if you want). I will even deliver if necessary. If I can't go at least my gear can get out there.

PM me and I will make arrangements with whomever if you so choose.

Jasan, do you have a GPS for your topo software. I love them maps. I have a garmin and love to "save" trips I have done in the past on my computer.
Bummer you can't make it man. I'll take enough photos to make it feel like you were there.

As for the maps it's the National Geographic topo software and works pretty well with a few things that can drive you crazy. Like with these maps the location that we'll be camping is right on the edge of two discs (it comes with 8 for different zones) so you have to keep changing back and forth between them as you move around the area. Unfortunately my GPS doesn't have the PC interface but works well for general location findings or geo caching. It's the Magellan Explorist 200. Which model do you have? Does it work well with mapping software? I'd like to upgrade mine in the future.
Chorizo, it's what's for breakfast.

Amen to that, especially all that cleansing bacon.
How was your drive back? It felt weird to be home again....

I agree, it did feel weird. Shower sure did feel good though, and a loving wife greeted me with a nice long hug.

The drive was long and rainy but the bus was running well and I managed to find a few NPR channels along the way to keep my mind busy. I still need to totally unpack the bus.

Photos will be nice, but a written re-cap by one of the PNW Weenies would be even nicer. :)
