I will leave that to Miss zora and justgivemecoffee they have pictures.. 1 thing though on the way back i was really gassing it to close a gap between ms zora and elle passed a motor cop sitting in a lot. anouther car passed before he got on the road i turned left off marine dr. and the lights came on i pulled over and stopped i thought all right a speeding ticket in my bus i am going to frame this. 
and he pulled over the car behind me...

Well, all I can say is: you guys all missed out on a Really Good Time.
The weather was perfect, the location was excellent and we all had a terrific time. Barry (at the Thirsty Woman Tavern) has a beautiful '78 Westy that's in wonderful shape. He wasn't at Maupin this year, but he's been there before! He wants this to become an annual VW gathering and I have to agree, this is only going to get bigger.
Good brews, good bands and a great time.
Also, if you're ever in the neighborhood, be sure to get the creme brulee from the Good River restaurant.
The carabus met at the Tin Shed for breakfast, had some excellent grub and hit the road.
It was hot drive, but not terrible.

and the Columbia river on the other, it stayed pretty cool. Mid 80s
The Portland Contingent sets up camp.
With the EZ awning between Elle and Miss Zora and we've got it made in the shade. As we were relaxing, Deb from the Thirsty Woman pub welcomed us.
Please note our spacious site.. plenty of room for all.
Thunderstorms appeared on the horizon, but the wind was blowing them away.
There was a wine tasting, but we're beer snobs. The beer at the pub was excellent, with a 16 taps plus various bottles. Yow!
that's a kitesurfer out there. At one point, I think he was about 75 in the air. But all that wind blowing off the water kept us cool.
Score! another sticker for Miss Zora
Relaxing and watching the other buses arrive.
Time for the bus tour. A nice splitty.
An old friend of the family showed up, but he soon tired of us riff raff and departed.
Slowly, more buses arrived.
A nice 21 window with sunroof.
There were all sorts of rigs and some folks only stayed for a little while. I failed to get a pic of a 4wd syncro truck and a few others that ran off early.
A Creamsicle Vanagon.
New and old.
This is a nice one.
It's almost Hambone clean.
Up front, it looks nice and sedate...
but its not stock. That's a monster motor. 2200? is that right?
Another nice ride.
if you look close, you can see the little window inside. It's in the partition that's right behind the front seats. The back is empty.
Nice and clean.
Because let's face it, all you need is that surfboard.

because it was too doggone hot. Amongst the Wreckage is the band that Fido there is enjoying. They were great.
I think that's a steak, I"m not certain.
it was getting late so we headed back to Alpha Base.
and the first thing we noticed is a paint sample someone left on Miss Zora.
We looked around, but they obviously hightailed it. We know the color, though!
So we head back home, past the cool waters.
The sun sets as we wind our way back.
Driving home in the cool of the night.
