Yeah, I think he does.

Here's what we did last year. Hippie has the Blue early bay. I think he's actually in a couple of pictures, in person!

Some nice banter 'tween Turk and Hambone before the bad blood. Some nice pics from Turk in his webshots album.

Sounds interesting. I don't know if I'll be able to get off work, but it is possible.

I'd also be up for checking out Door county later, maybe after Labor Day.

howdy all, i'm a newbie here. fantastic info and community, kudos and thanks!

i was getting a bit jealous of the nw group, good to see some folks in the middle here. i'm not going to be ready (or able- my own darn fault) for a trip, very sadly, till sometime next august- but by then the westy should be ready and roaring to go anywhere (fingers crossed, spare parts and tools packed), and i'll have to get my adventure fix on.

i'd love to join up with some other vw people for a trip, camping, or whatever. for now, i'll take notes and offer any info/advice i can.

thanks again, to all here, for making such a great community

What is RAGBRAI?

RAGBRAI®, The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, is an annual seven-day bicycle ride across the state. Heading into its 37th year, RAGBRAI is the longest, largest and oldest touring bicycle ride in the world. RAGBRAI is sponsored by The Des Moines Register.

Cool!!! Have an uncle that does that every year.... Can see how a bus WOULD be the perfect "chase" vehicle.

It is the largest organized bike ride in the world. People come from all over.
It's about the funnest thing you can ever do!
This year's was 400 miles in a week. Different route each time.

The theme is pie (pie everywhere) Beer, of course. And painted up canopied converted school buses. Make up a team name, hoist your team flag, drink beer, eat pie, ride and camp.
