Todd Rundgren, Aladdin Theatre PDX 9/19

Post by deschutestrout » Wed Aug 01, 2007 8:33 pm

Yeah buddy, if you are familiar with Rundgren and haven't had the pleasure of seeing him live...here's your chance. I've seen him many, many times and his concerts are always memorable and unique...the guy's a genius. I'm there for sure. Maybe a bunch of us can meet up...looks like it is a general admission gig...small theatre...should be fun.

Neal, let's gather the troops. Todd can be from totally odd, to totally "normal" in his performance style...but, he is ALWAYS entertaining as hell, and displays his absolute control over music and (often) electronics. One of the most memorable shows I saw was in Denver. Todd was surrounded by a semi-circle of a 13-voice choir, and everything was vocal/acoustic...talk about a'show! I'm there...other volks chime in and we'll figure out a pre-show meeting place for dinner and drinks!

I don't see the show listed Mark. trconnect.com lists it, but not the Alladin website. Either or, I'm hightailing it down to the theater tomorrow to get my tickets, $20 vs $31 through Ticketmaster's online service. What a gouge. And tickets for Nick Lowe's October 8 show. Wow, many a many a many a many moon since I've been to a show. Zappa plays Zappa.

Yeah, ticket master is a biz I wish I had started. I'll pick mine up online tomorrow since I'm not in PDX...I guess they consider it a convenience levy. Anywho....I'll pay $35 to see Todd in a heartbeat. Let's all keep in touch and plan to meet before the show somewhere for dinner, drinks, etc....

Most assuredly.

Is it Todd or the New Cars?

Ticket secured...it is general admission....came to $48 after all the dangblastit Ticket Master fees....oh well, I haven't seen Todd in years...should be a great show. Neal, the show is billed as simply "Todd Rundgren"...hopefully many busers will be able to join us.

Yea Bret...lotsa great Todd tunes...wish you were here to join us! See you in Maupin next Father's Day! Later, Mark
