I've been toying with the idea of going for years but somehow always forget until a week before it happens. Anyone interested in heading down?

I remembered early this year. =)

Failing that, there's one closer at Oaks Park .. http://oakspark.com/oktoberfest.html

That's OK, Kirk .. the "beer fests" are next month. Yes, Oktoberfest is in September...

Gonna get out the lederhosen?

Mt Angel is Sept 12-15; Silver Falls campground looks to be booked solid for that weekend .. wonder why? :cyclopsani: Day passes are $7-9 and apparently get you into everything. Oaks Park is Sept 20-22nd, we can go home & sleep it off in our own beds, and costs $3 at the gate.

Either way, beer and food are "extra".

Sooo, what exactly do we get with the entry fee?

Is it like a cover charge at the local strip joint?

Mt. Angel has a lot of free stuff, but charge for entry to the Biergarten, Weingarten and Alpinegarten .. which is of course where the beer is. Oaks Park .. it's like admission to the fair or Disneyland...

There use to be a guy who rented out spots in his field for camping in Mt. Angel. It was only a few bucks and within walking distance to the festivities. Perfect for stumbling back to the bus. This was several years ago so who knows what the situation is now.
