Once again a wonderful experience of fellowship, Libation, music, and talk of machines. In no particular order.

Pulled in fairly early Friday after pulling my daughter out of school for an "appointment" (with a campervan...)
Not many pix from that day but lots happened ("happened" being the Gypsie translation for "sampled umpteen beers and a few spirits and hooted up some...).

Saturday morning, at around 6am the rain started to fall. Which caused me to leap forth and scramble to pull our gear under our awning. We went to bed with a warm breeze blowing and clear skies with a glowing (seemingly) full moon. I found Mark scrambling to pull the electrical stuff to the middle of the stage and I helped as much as I could in my "condition". After the adrenaline faded, I noted that the world, and my innards, would not stop spinning. Those that saw me that morning can attest to the poor shape I was in. Needless to say after... uh...."purging myself of my sins", drinking a bucket of water, and going back to bed to get a few more winks I was ready for another day.

So Hambone and I set up to raise more beer money
Image
Then we both realized we didn't need money, what with the several taps and samples to choose from all over the site. That and both of us also realizing that we were not in the mood for another night of drunken debauchery. Saturday would be for plain ol debauchery.
My wife said I was looking for trouble, but he actually found me...
Image
(watch out for this guy he will corrupt young minds with graphic images and murderous parenting thoughts...Oh wait...uh nevermind...)

John brought over a really big fiddle...
Image
I mean this fiddle was so big he couldn't hold it up to his chin and he kept it on the ground...

Image
(LiveonJG and Hambone)

I spotted the elusive Mr. Spiffy (dat guy is one letter away from a content advisory label)
Image

I was Boelled over by all the folk I have met over the years, Friends all.

Image
Mike Boelle (he has hair of the dog...)

Miss Zora tried to help the Gypsie Wagon with a ring job...

Katie and "Freshpicked"
Image
'Dese guys were High flyin'
Image
(ShawnHigh and Flyaway Designs aka Rick)
I visited the neighborhoods
The heights:
Image
Mr. And Mrs. Westy78
Saw where some of the PNW "cliquesters" were hanging out:
Image
Ruckman101, Tristessa, and Xelmon
Saw a painter of many of the rigs in the field. Willie must be becoming quite the celebrity to have a bodyguard:
Image

You could almost feel the StaticEclecticity near some of the busses (though he didn't always like it...)
Image
Our Host Rocked the House (for a loooooong time)
Image
My what big speakers you have....I said "MY WHAT BIG SPEAKERS YOU HAVE"....
This one goes to 11....

This cloud had everyone's attention cause it had a portent of things to come grin
Image

But we had some 'portent' of our own...
Image

I took this pic and the guy on the left was just rafting through and came over to check out the busses he had seen from the river. He said "send that photo to blahblahblah@sumpin.com (or some such) Hope he checks in here:
Image

Sunday found us Leisurely packing up and heading out
Image
Hambone graciously agreed to follow behind on the way out in case my 3 remaining cylinders decided to crap out...He soon regretted this as every climb dropped us down to the 30's.

We headed to this little podunk town....what was the name of that place...

Image
This town has no gas ('ceptin fer the nice ladies with Gas cans and huge hearts and a willingness to bend the rules to see that people aren't stuck). I had around 2 1/2 gallons in the tank and getting 10 miles to the gallon with 30 miles to go in either direction. (Thank Yaweh for Hambone and the Larcenous Ladies......)

I love this truck. I have many pictures of it from over the years
Image

The girls met a cowboy (that I thought was a little 'too friendly')

Image
Then they got arrested for PDA's (It was a very small town...)
Image

The rest of the trip Down the Gorge was a windy hayride.
Great trip.
Glad to have met AircooledChris and Fam, SailorKH, Bill and Melissa (again..)
Met More folk. Great to see Greg's Family Can't wait til next year...
I said "CAN"T WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR..."

So, no wonder I would post vid from number five days before number six. It got lost in the frenzy, so beat you over the head with a stick, a link.

Great pics you guys. Heartwarming to see such joy.
Yeah that music was pretty loud. I gotta say, although I enjoyed it, it was too much for such a mellow lovely evening. Mebbe a shorter electric set next time, and a longer acoustic would fit better. I missed the open mic this year! It would be cool to have an "artist's stage", poetry, music, freeform whatever.
Mark you put on a hell of a weekend, can't thank you enough. It truly is a rendezvous.

Love the pics Stephan!

But come on, I'm not the guy singing about throwing my kid off a cliff.

As for the electric set, I'll chime in too, a wee bit long and a wee bit loud. We are a captive audience and we're there to spend time with each other. Heavily amplified music that makes conversation challenging for 2+ hours and negates any small jam sessions seems counter to the spirit of the event.

Still a fun weekend though.

What a GREAT weekend gang! Thank you...you're all the reason I do this. Thanks for the candid comments on music. I'll think about things for next year. Some of the best music was after hours :drunken: Next year. Fathers Day Weekend. Be there (here).

What a week, the camper is back in the driveway. Mark, took your advice on sunday night camping at clear creek. Great spot, you were right about no one else there and tons of wood to burn. Hiked down the creek a couple miles thru the forest, perfect. Next year maybe a few more buses can join in? Great to see all the buses out being used as intended. I want to live in a van down by the river! Pic's in come. Missed Colin, felt like I missed a day of school.

Aw heck, Shawn, I missed one of the great soul battery recharges of my Itinerant Life. Bitterly disappointed to have missed it.
Now, what do we do about your missing a day of school? Detention. After hours. LuckyLab.
How is Papasmurf's engine?

Ladies and Gentleman, may I present you...

The 2nd annual Super Half-Assedly Spliced Panoramic Edition of camp.

... Actually, this one is much better than last years. I can haz photoing and shopping skillz!

Image

Notes:
* My Civic is obviously not tainting the picture... AGAIN!
* Sadly PJ's wonderful red bus is not in the picture.
* Mike's Toyota can be seen... Along with several other creatures of other walk than VW.
* The F150 was fully with stuff! Man the splitty group had a lot of stuff! (Left lower corner)
* The lifted Ford Adventure wagon... Is actually pretty damn cool. So is Jen! All is forgiven. :)
* Dude, I finally peered under Spiff's hood. Man that is engine porn.
* The Element doesn't pop out that badly.
* The Accord IIRC was a day-tripper who had their bus in parts.
* Saturday was Meh for the most part, however we had this break, so I sprung into action!
* The vanagons are coming back, I'm pretty sure though that there is a certain balance in the air now. :)

Overall it was an Excellent event, man the weather was soooo nice Friday and Sunday... LOVED IT!

As I said, full picture collection and chalk out-lines of the Civic will go up eventually.

OH! 7000 x 2200 pixel version is available upon request. :)

I agree with the electric set a bit too long and too loud as it made it really hard to have conversations or interact with others...Open Mike is nice too for a more free form music or more.....
Remember there are lots of kids there trying to play and interact and they don't listen to the music at all it.....

I have no opinion on the Electric Set since I was curled up in the top bunk of my rig taking a nap.

Please no electric music next year.
Not at all a good fit for this sort of event.
I could very happily live out my years without ever hearing "Smoke On the Water" again.
Can the number of non-VW vehicle attendees be reduced?
Can the looky-loos (driving through, gawking, and then driving out) be actively discouraged?
(Especially that asshat from "search & rescue"!!)

Other than that (very, very important to me yet still) very minor quibble, had a very good time.
