Pump came today. I'll install it tomorrow after work and have more pics and info. But in the meantime...

Don't you just love how the warranty info is poorly printed? heh

UPDATE:

It's installed. Much quieter and working perfectly. Woot!

Looks GREAT though! Good to see more options becoming available to us. I like the fact that the OEM pumps had metal jackets, some of the aftermarket units have cheesy plastic jackets and nipples...ick!

I'd love to do an autopsy on my old one. But it's worth a $40 core...

The Fuel Injection Corp website has a bit of info on their rebuilt pumps:

Remanufacturing Process
1. Units are disassembled to component level.
2. Bearings are cleaned or replaced.
3. Commutators are resurfaced or replaced.
4. New brushes installed.
5. All 'O' rings are replaced.
6. Assembled units are flow rate, pressure checked and tested for amperage draw.
7. Once the unit meets OEM specifications, the unit is sealed and packaged.

Interesting service they offer: Testing. You pay them to test your FI gear, and if you need it replaced/rebuilt they let you apply the testing fee to the cost of the part.

You can order direct as well, but it's more expensive than Bus-Boys (and I'd rather support our VW vendors anyway.)
