Here's something I stumbled in to while searching for info on the L-Jet in the 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider I recently reluctantly acquired:
http://ratwell.com/mirror/potts/index.htm

Good old ratwell.

Were you maybe intending to point to this one: http://www.ratwell.com/technical/DoubleRelay.html

Hmm. Try right-click and "Open in new tab" It's working for me with Chrome.

http://ratwell.com/mirror/potts/index.html

Edit: it looks like I missed the 'l" in "html" when I copied the URL.

Does the above link add to this technical article or obfuscate? My article was designed to cut through the ancient mimeographed dry Bentley/Bosch directions with what I hoped was more clarity through color and explanation. I personally hated those Bentley Bosch illustrations never on the same page as the text it seemed for telling you to "test 86a" with your tester probe, but which the heck terminal was 86a? Their illustrations sure didn't help. So what is up? Do I need to update/clarify/rewrite/expand?

Your lovely drawings and write up are far better at explaining the operation of the system to a layman than the dry Bentley, no doubt about it. I always imagined your book as an improved version of the Idiot's Guide: the goal is to help explain and de-mystify the technology and give a newbie confidence he can maintain his own vehicle, plus instruction on the basic procedures.

I do think there are some useful additions in the manual for someone who is diving in to diagnose fuel injection, for example. View it as a "further reading" recommendation you might see in a textbook for someone that wants to go deeper on specific subject. If you envision your book as a complete replacement for the Bentley and Bosch manuals, you'd have to make it too dense and too long.

As an example, your color drawing will help someone not used to reading schematics follow this one, and find the connections listed but not explained or illustrated. It's just not practical for you to include every permutation, and it's OK to reference the other sources.

I was not implying your explanation needed help, I was just adding to the on-line canon. The other books can be useful, and not all of us have a physical copy. There is probably a better place to add links like this, but this is where I was when I made the connection.

Mercy buckets, this is groovy. Thanks for Laying this out for knuckleheads like me. Yes, it is simple but its all your doing. You know it well, digested it and presented it. Sign of an expert. Thanks again.
