Choke Loose Electrical Spade?

Post by ruckman101 » Fri Feb 14, 2014 2:39 pm

H30/31 PICT carburator. It has the round electric choke. However the heater ceramic assembly with the spade the electric connects to is loose. Wiggles all over the place. It doesn't seem to be hindering the travel of the spring in any way, it just slops around in there. I didn't notice any adverse running, and in fact didn't notice the loose heating element of the carb until the crack in the top of piston #3 was developing and I was trying to figure out what was going on.

A lot of them are loose like that. Run it and see if it works.

The mind races, but it's back on. The carb was dusty, took it off to clean up a bit and the throat was black. Got that cleaned out and noticed I had three gaskets under it. One I didn't notice on the intake, one I didn't notice on the carb, and the new one. Doh!
